On October 19 and 20 the 16th edition of the International Meeting on Information Security (16ENISE), organized by the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE) was held at the Palacio de Exposiciones de León. Representing the Inprosec team, our CEO Iago Fortes, our international sales director Inés Lamas, our Key Account Manager Karina Basalo and Roi Fortes, our national sales director, attended the event. On behalf of InprOTech, our industrial cybersecurity line, Ibán Morillo attended as Managing Director and our Cybersecurity Consultant Alba Ramos.
The event brought together more than 2,400 attendees from 21 countries, and more than 1,600 people connected telematically via streaming, breaking a new record of participation and becoming another year in the national and international reference meeting of the cybersecurity sector.
During both days of 16ENISE we were able to enjoy interesting presentations such as:
- In the session called “Human Factor: The First Token?” where the CISOs of the most important telecommunication companies participated, the importance that the weakest link in the chain, the human factor, continues to have in the field of cybersecurity was discussed.
- The talk on Cybersecurity Studies was also very interesting, where, among other things, the great growth that has taken place in recent years in the number of women in the STEM field was discussed, although equality has not yet been achieved and there is still a higher percentage of men than women occupying this type of profile. And to prove it: all three speakers were women.
- Finally, in Santiago Niño-Becerra’s presentation entitled “Cybersecurity as a driver of the digital economy“, he told us that despite the current uncertainty due to the situation experienced over the last three years and the growing robotization of processes in industry, which will lead to a reduction in jobs in many sectors, the technology sector, and specifically the cybersecurity sector, will continue to grow. It is clear that all these robots, which are constantly improving production processes, will need to be secure and monitored so that they perform their function in the best possible way.
INPROTECH GUARDIAN – MONITOR AND PROTECT THE FACTORY FLOOR
The event hosted the latest trends and innovations in the cybersecurity sector, with 75 national and international speakers, including Ibán Morillo, who gave a short talk on InprOTech Guardian as a solution for monitoring industrial environments.
In addition, for the third consecutive year, the InprOTech team has participated in the event with its own stand along with 81 commercial and institutional stands, in which, during both days we offered the possibility to know and check the functionality of Guardian, and how its SANTI software controls and monitors in real time all the threats that can occur in a factory.
Regarding the more international part of the event, the International Business Forum brought together more than 95 participants from 15 different countries, so we had the opportunity to meet with foreign companies interested in learning about the Spanish market solutions in cybersecurity. We also made a first contact with future collaboration opportunities in the international market of a sector that is constantly growing. In addition, we were able to attend two ICEX talks on internationalization support programs, ICEX Next and ICEX VIVES.
Finally, we would like to thank INCIBE for organizing 16ENISE, which has been a key meeting point, yet another year, in which to exchange ideas and knowledge about innovation, entrepreneurship, internationalization and the latest trends in a sector in constant expansion.
