Inprotech People&Talent: Samuel Papillón

Interviews

We resume our interview section to bring you closer to the talent that is part of InprOTech. Today, we talk to Samuel Pampillón, software developer on our team. Join us to learn more about his experience at the company.

What is your role at Inprosec?

At InprOTech, I perform the role of developer. I mainly focus on the maintenance, development, and deployment of the cybersecurity software InprOTech Guardian.

What would you highlight about Inprosec as a company?

What I would highlight the most is the constant learning to which we are exposed and the continuous search for improvement, which aligns very well with my personality. I also highly value the collaboration with companies and clients, from whom you can always learn something new.

What has Inprosec meant to your professional career?

InprOTech has been practically my first serious job after finishing my studies. They gave me the opportunity to learn and start building my professional career from scratch, something I will always be grateful for.

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?

In general, I manage to separate both spheres quite well. Although I am a demanding person, and if I can’t make progress on something, I tend to keep thinking about it even outside of working hours. As I work from home most of the time, I try to disconnect by going to the gym or going out after the workday.

Tell us an anecdote that has happened to you with Inprosec

Yes, once we went to León to present InprOTech Guardian at the 18ENISE fair. The hotel where we stayed was quite far, so we had to use taxis to get around the city. The first night, some colleagues and I went to the center to have dinner. I will never forget that taxi: unfortunately, I had to sit as the co-pilot. The driver, an elderly man, started telling us how fast his Tesla was, speeding up and telling dirty jokes. At one point, he began talking about the Camino de Santiago and how you can meet any crazy person out there. He said he could go anywhere alone… and then he pulled out a taser and turned it on right in front of my face. It was surreal.

What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?

Without a doubt, I highly value the constant learning, the flexible hours I am allowed, and the great human team I work with.

As an employee of a company specializing in cybersecurity, what advice would you give to any entrepreneur starting out regarding their systems?

My advice would be to identify all the devices they use and work with a fully segregated OT network. Of course, I would also recommend using tools like Guardian. Many times, we think we are protected until an attack happens.

What are your hobbies after the workday?

I really enjoy sports, especially boxing. I also like to go on getaways, try different plans, play video games, or watch movies.
